Bike 2 Work and Movember 2020

We regularly participate in the local Bike to Work initiative. This year, despite a disruption due to the pandemic, 11 of our team members took part, and have biked 3’220 kilometres in 244 days.

Movember is another traditional initiative that we support. Our team is called “Direct Growing Beards”. We raise money to increase male health awareness, to fight prostate and testicle cancer, and to prevent depression and suicide. This month, we have grown 6 moustaches, covered ca. 600 km by running and walking, and raised ca. 850 CHF.

Happy National Nanotechnology Day

We celebrate the National Nanotechnology Day (USA) on October 9th, which pays homage to the nanometer scale: 1 nm equals 1 x 10-9 m (one billionth of a meter).  The day highlights nanotechnology and helps raise awareness of how it currently impacts our lives in products we may use every day. Furthermore, it focuses on

More NanoFrazor systems in the UK

Nano Frazor Explore installation at Queen Mary University of London (Photo by Jonas Vergés) Two more NanoFrazor systems were installed in England at Queen Mary University of London and at the University of Liverpool. Recently, our engineers Jonas Vergés and Myriam Käppeli installed the systems on-site and trained many different users for a broad range

Application Note: Non-invasive Nanolithography

Thermal scanning probe lithography (t-SPL), enabled by NanoFrazor, uses a heatable ultrasharp tip for simultaneous patterning and inspection of nanostructures in thermal resists. Thanks to its non-invasive patterning principle, namely the lack of charged particles, the NanoFrazor technology allows for the fabrication of novel nanodevices with material systems and architectures that would otherwise not be
